RE: Questions
Hello Architects,
Over the past couple of days I’ve received several emails regarding our last post. I’d like to apologize for any confusion it may have created. Hopefully, the following points will answer everyone’s questions …
- We have not yet announced our list of candidates who will be invited to join the competition. This announcement will be posted to our blog on Wednesday, 30 June 2010.
- The list of criteria being used during this process is simply bullet points pulled from our original competition outline. This outline can be found our website at www.flyingteeth.com/designcompetition.html. A more detailed explanation of these points will be provided on Wednesday, 30 June 2010 when we announce the ‘invitees’.
- Unfortunately, we are not accepting additional pre-qualification materials at this time.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me directly at 305 409 5844.
Warm Regards,
Leesa @ FlyingTeeth
Thank you for your patience!
Hello Architects!
On behalf of FlyingTeeth and Cadence, we are very excited to announce our second-round finalists. However, due to an overwhelmingly positive response, we must ask for your continued patience while we postpone this announcement once more. Given the volume and depth of your submissions, our team finds it necessary to extend this deliberation process and looks forward to announcing the finalists on June 30th, 2010.
Here are the key points we are attempting to use during this process:
- sensibilities regarding sustainability
- island experience
- implementation of authenticity in regards to creating a sense of place
- presentation
- synergy with current design team
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best Regards,
Leesa @ FlyingTeeth
Interest + Enthusiasm!
Good afternoon Architects,
Thank you again for your interest and enthusiasm regarding our Boutique Sustainable Hotel Design Competition. As mentioned before, we created this competition as a means to developing relationships with individuals that understand, live and teach the philosophies of sustainability. Creating synergies with people who truly “get it” is critical for our success as a company. Your emails, packages, phone calls, cover letters and resumes have reassured us that we are not alone in our goal to build — both buildings and companies — sustainably.
Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, we would like to extend our decision-making deadline to June 15th so that we can better delve into all of your wonderful, well-thought submissions. On June 15th, we will contact all contestants via email as well as post to our blog the firms, individuals and students that have made it to the second round.
On behalf of FlyingTeeth and our partners, thank you again!
Warm Regards,
Leesa @ FlyingTeeth
